Hard Dollar BID*BUILD Change Management Module automatically monitors the job folder for any changes that affect the job’s cost or target price, such as new or deleted work items, changes to production rates, changes to quantities, and more. By automatically tracking these changes in a log, and calculating the before and after impact of each change on the job’s cost and price, you have the documentation you need to ensure payment for all the extra work you do.

The Change Management module tracks changes to the job as they occur, automatically developing the documentation you need to support change orders and avoid disputes.

Track and record changes to the job as they occur

  • Automatically capture changes in a changes log every time a change is made to the folder that affects the job’s price or cost
  • Automatically record the nature of the change, including what changed, before and after values, who made the change, date and time, and more
  • Use a Change Assignment label to group related changes together, even though they may have occurred at different points in time
  • Optionally enter full text notes for each change
  • Activate and de-activate automatic change capturing at any time

Calculate the impact of changes on the job’s price and cost

  • Automatically calculate and record the impact of each change on the job’s target price, including Before, After, and Difference values for the job’s profit, indirect costs, and direct costs
  • Automatically calculate and record the impact of each change on the job’s total cost, including Before, After, and Difference values for total costs by category (labor equipment, materials, etc.)
  • Automatically calculate and record the impact of each change on the items specifically affected by the change, including Before, After, and Difference values for the items’ costs by category (labor, equipment, materials, etc.)
  • For each change, display the impact values (before, after, and difference) based on internal charge rates or outside billing rates for resources
  • Highlight multiple changes to view the impact (aggregated total) of all the selected changes at once

Track the approval status of changes

  • For each change, record a Notice Date to record the date when notice was given to the owner regarding the change
  • For each change, record a Request Date to record the date when a formal request was made to the owner for additional payment related to the change
  • For each change, record an Answer Date to record the date when an answer was received from the owner regarding the change
  • For each change, record an Approved Amount to record the amount of additional payment that was approved by the owner for the change
  • For each change, record a user- defined Change Status to allow filtering, sorting, or grouping of changes by their status (pending, approved, etc.)
  • For each change, record up to three additional user-defined Tags to categorize, filter, sort, and group changes in virtually unlimited ways

Output change details to printed reports, Excel, or Word

  • Print reports of Changes with as much or as little detail as desired
  • Select what kinds of data to include in reports by turning columns on or off
  • Select which changes to include in reports by filtering on fields such as Change Label, Change Status, Change Date, Tags, and any other field
  • Control the order of the Changes listed in reports by sorting on fields such as Change Label, Change Status, Change Date, Tags, and any other field
  • Group the Changes log to view and print subtotals by Change Label, Change Status, Change Date, Tags, and any other field
  • Copy and paste (or drag and drop) data from the Changes log into Microsoft Excel or Word
