Great Minds Think Alike: HD Collaboration

by Hard Dollar on December 13th, 2010

“It is the long history of humankind (and animal kind, too) those who learned to collaborate and improvise most effectively have prevailed.” – Charles Darwin

Wow, maybe that old Darwin guy really knew what he was talking about.  Even way back then he proved how necessary it is that we collaborate to find advances.

For instance, a group of lions is likely to catch their prey when hunting in a pack. If each lion utilizes its individual skills, the whole group is sure to have some good eating.

Likewise, planning an enterprise project can be a jungle of its own. Here at Hard Dollar we realize that bringing together the most powerful tools for a successful project is more likely to increase overall productivity instead of trying to plan and execute with separate software solutions, or even worse … spreadsheets.

Why not bring aspects of the project together and place them under one roof? HD Project Cost Management utilizes this concept of collaboration with Hard Dollar’s latest innovation: HD 5D-BIM server.

HD for STO: Safety First

by Hard Dollar on October 1st, 2010

The old saying “safety first” isn’t just a phrase used in high school shop classes. It holds true with any level of projects, especially enterprise organizations.

Whether you are in upper management or a plant worker, safety should always be on the forefront during any part of maintenance projects. Although completing the project on time and on budget are very important factors, finishing it in a safe manner is a must. Often times, incidents arise in plants that need quick and reactive attention; but consequently these unplanned incidents result in most breaches of safety.  A reactive project is defined as maintenance that is planned and scheduled in less than 20 hours, falling severely short of the months of planning allotted in normal outages.
