Design

Extend the 3D Model

AutoCAD, Bentley, Aveva, Intergraph, and other design systems generate material lists from the design. Without HD, the output is manually transferred into estimates, along with the task of manually created assemblies. These 3D models additionally lack the man hours and equipment associated with each item. HD for EPC’s eliminates manual entry from 3D design systems with integration directly to the estimate, saving time and increasing accuracy of each project component, along with providing valuable labor and equipment data to accompany each piece of the model.

Stay Up to Speed with Design Changes

As changes occur to the design, modifications to the estimate and schedule are automated throughout the entire cycle, recalculating the effects of the design changes and eliminating manual entry. HD updates the project versions with the appropriate changes, logging the time, notes, and other pertinent information for each change, along with a dynamic update to the schedule.

Procurement

Create work packages that easily identify the best contractors/suppliers for the scope of work included in the package. Solicit and record quotes/bids for individual items or entire packages, and evaluate and compare alternatives.

Attachment capabilities provide embedded files of any type, including documents, drawings, photos, and more. Data fields document the characteristics of each item, such as size, weight, type, and other defining attributes.

Selecting a bid from a contractor/supplier as the basis of the estimate for the items will update the budget, setup the supplier/contractor for procurement tracking, and also log the change in the budget from whatever values were previously in the budget for those items.

Procurement items can be included in cash flow graphs, tied directly to Microsoft Project® or Primavera®, or by entering start and finish dates. Gain accuracy in cash spend forecasts – especially for long lead-time items - by tying committed amounts to different milestones such as up-front payments.

Easily record procurement item progress and track earned value based on % complete. As invoice amounts are entered from contractors/suppliers, amounts are automatically compared to earned value, highlighting any discrepancies in red. Pay Approval capabilities streamline the process of identifying what work has been completed by each contractor/supplier, including how much has been billed, and how much is approved for payment.

At any point, quickly view the status of all procurement items, or drill down by work package or by contractor/supplier.

Estimating

Schedule

Connect project estimates and schedules together for live cost changes, keeping projects on budget and on time with scheduling software. Making changes to a schedule automatically modifies the cost estimates in real-time, allowing instant assessment of how time affects costs. Estimates and schedules are in-sync throughout the project, saving calculation time, and increasing project accuracy.

Progress – Productivity

Stay up to speed on project progress daily, without waiting for accounting information. Preliminary and actual cost data is available daily to assess the need to make potential changes while there's still time to have an impact on the project's success and gross profit margin. Recognize time and other valuable information the moment it is entered without waiting for accounting and not having to re-enter data into multiple systems. Allow Contractors, SubContractors and other project participants to enter progress updates in real time with web based progress updates including man hours, quantity, costs, productivity, and other key project areas.

Finance

Send and receive real time data to accounting with Budget and Detailed cost item data from estimates, Progress information from the project including Man Hours, Quantities, Productivity and other data.
